First, is vinyl right for your home?
Where vinyl shines, and where it doesn't
Vinyl suits most living rooms, bedrooms and kitchens. Here's why homeowners pick it:
- Waterproof core. Spills, mopping and Singapore's humidity won't swell or warp it.
- Warm underfoot. Softer and quieter to walk on than tiles.
- Click-lock install. No glue, usually no hacking, and most rooms are done in a day.
- Easy upkeep. Sweep, damp-mop, done. No sealing or polishing.
- Slip-resistant surface. A sensible choice for families and older relatives.
Where we don't recommend vinyl: bathrooms, toilets and showers. Tiles are the right choice there. Tiling services →
Also not for outdoors. Balconies and open-air spaces need a different material.
Condos: some management offices require acoustic-rated flooring, and our vinyl can't take a separate acoustic underlay. Check your condo's rules first and send them to us.

What we install, and what we don't
We install click-lock LVT (luxury vinyl tile), in two looks:
- LVT plank: long, timber-style planks. Popular in living rooms and bedrooms.
- LVT tile: 30 x 60cm and 45 x 90cm stone- and porcelain-look pieces. Popular in kitchens and entryways.
Both are built the same way and wear the same.
We don't stock SPC, and our advice is to avoid it. SPC is a rigid board, so it needs a very even subfloor to sit flat. Most Singapore floors it would go over, old tiles or carpeted slabs, are often uneven, which usually means self-levelling first. Laid without it, problems tend to show within 1 to 2 years: lippage (raised edges between boards), hollow-sounding spots, and joints that open or break.
WPC isn't vinyl. It's a decking material.
Vinyl vs tiles vs laminate vs timber
An honest comparison, to help you decide. It's not a sales pitch, and sometimes the answer isn't vinyl.
| Vinyl (LVT) | Tiles | Laminate | Timber | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Water | Waterproof core | Waterproof (grout needs care) | Not waterproof, swells in humidity | Sensitive to water and humidity |
| Underfoot | Warm and soft | Hard and cold | Comfortable | Warm and natural |
| Install time | Most rooms in 1 day, no curing | 3 to 5 days plus curing | 1 to 2 days | Longer; depends on the type |
| Wear | Good (0.5mm to 0.7mm wear layer) | Excellent | Moderate | Can be sanded and refinished |
| Upkeep | Wipe clean, no sealing | Grout needs cleaning | Easy to clean, keep it dry | Needs regular care |
| Permit (HDB) | No HDB permit needed to lay over existing tiles with no hacking | Hacking needs an HDB permit | Check the product specs | Check with your installer |
| Bathrooms, toilets, showers | Not recommended | The right choice | No | No |

- Wear layer: the clear top coat that takes the scuffs. Most of our ranges have 0.5mm to 0.7mm. Thicker resists scratches better, which matters with kids, pets or a busy home.
- Thickness: our designs range from 4.2mm to 7mm. Thicker feels more solid underfoot but raises the floor more, so we check door clearances at the site survey.
- Click-lock, no adhesive. Patented click-lock systems from i4F and Välinge.
- Low VOC. FloorScore certified.

Everything you need to know about vinyl flooring in Singapore.
What is LVT vinyl flooring?
LVT (luxury vinyl tile) is a layered vinyl floor with a waterproof core that looks like timber, stone or concrete. Ours come as click-lock planks and tiles that lock together on top of your existing floor, so there's no glue and usually no hacking. It's warmer underfoot than tiles, and it copes with Singapore's humidity where laminate struggles.
Can vinyl flooring go over existing tiles?
Yes, in most homes. If your tiles are flat, firmly bonded and not cracked, we lay click-lock vinyl straight on top. Hollow, popped or uneven tiles get fixed first. We check door clearances at the site survey, because the new floor sits a little higher.
How thick is the vinyl overlay?
Our designs range from 4.2mm to 7mm. Thicker feels more solid underfoot, but it raises the floor more, so we confirm what fits your doors at the site survey.
Is vinyl flooring allowed in HDB flats? Do I need an HDB permit?
Yes. You don't need an HDB permit to lay vinyl over your existing floor finish, as long as there's no hacking and no cement screed. If the old tiles have to be hacked out first, an HDB permit is needed. We'll tell you at the site survey which applies to your flat.
Is vinyl waterproof? Can I use it in the kitchen?
Yes. Our vinyl has a waterproof core, so spills, mopping and humidity won't make it swell or warp the way laminate or timber can. That makes it a good fit for kitchens, living rooms and bedrooms.
Can I use vinyl in a bathroom, toilet or shower?
No. We strictly don't recommend vinyl in bathrooms, toilets or showers. Tiles are the right choice for those spaces.
Can I use vinyl outdoors, like on a balcony?
No. Vinyl isn't for outdoor use.
Do you sell SPC or WPC flooring?
No. We don't stock SPC, and our advice is to avoid it. WPC isn't vinyl at all; it's a decking material. What we install is click-lock LVT.
How long does installation take?
Most bedrooms or living rooms are done in a day. Herringbone and complex layouts can take 1.5 to 2 days. Click-lock vinyl has no curing time, so you can walk on it as soon as we finish. For a whole flat, your quote shows the number of days after the site survey.
What warranty do you give?
Up to 25 years on materials and 1 year on workmanship. Both are written into your quote.
Can I see the designs in person?
Yes. Our showroom at #02-22, 400 Balestier Road is open by appointment only. WhatsApp +65 8742 5660 to book.
