Our recommendation: For most Singapore HDB and condo homeowners, LVT vinyl flooring gives the most balanced mix of waterproofing, comfort, speed and cost. For bathrooms we strictly don’t recommend vinyl: tiles are the right choice there. Laminate is best avoided in Singapore’s humid climate due to its moisture sensitivity.

Everything you need to know
about vinyl flooring in Singapore.
How to choose vinyl flooring, how much it costs per sqft, whether it’s suitable for HDB flats, and more, all answered here.
LVT (luxury vinyl tile) is a layered, waterproof vinyl floor that looks like timber, stone or concrete. Ours come as click-lock planks and tiles that lock together on top of your existing floor, so there’s no glue and usually no hacking. It’s warmer and softer underfoot than tiles, and it copes with Singapore’s humidity where laminate struggles.
Yes, in most homes. If your current tiles are flat, firmly bonded and not cracked, we lay click-lock LVT straight on top. There’s no hacking, much less dust, and the job is a lot shorter. Hollow, popped or uneven tiles get fixed first. Laying over tiles raises the floor by about the plank thickness (roughly 3.5mm to 6mm for our ranges), so we check door clearances at the site survey.
Yes, vinyl is allowed in HDB flats. Under HDB’s renovation guidelines, you don’t need an HDB permit to lay a new floor over your existing floor finish as long as there’s no hacking and no cement screed, there’s only one existing layer of finish, and the new layer stays within HDB’s 13mm limit. If the old tiles need to be hacked out first, that needs HDB approval.
Yes. Our LVT has a 100% waterproof core, so spills, mopping and Singapore’s humidity won’t make it swell or warp the way laminate or timber can. That makes it a good fit for kitchens, living rooms and bedrooms.
Vinyl is 100% waterproof. We don’t recommend installing vinyl in bathrooms. For bathrooms, tiles are the right choice.
Quality LVT is built for years of everyday family life. How long it lasts depends mostly on the wear layer, the clear top coat that takes the scratches and scuffs, and most of our ranges have a 0.5mm to 0.7mm wear layer. Felt pads under furniture and a mat at the door go a long way. Our vinyl is also backed by a 25-year materials warranty.
Most of our LVT ranges have a 0.5mm to 0.7mm wear layer. The wear layer is the clear protective top coat, and a thicker one resists scratches and dents better. That’s worth thinking about if you have kids, pets or a busy household. Ask us for any design’s spec sheet and we’ll help you pick the right one.
Most of our designs are 5mm, and our catalogue runs from about 3.5mm to 6mm. Thicker planks feel more solid underfoot, but they raise the floor a little more, which matters for doors when you lay over existing tiles. We measure door clearances at the site survey and recommend a thickness that fits.
Most HDB bedrooms or living rooms are done in a single day. Herringbone and other complex layouts can take 1.5 to 2 days. Click-lock LVT has no curing time, so you can walk on it as soon as we finish. For a whole flat, your quote will show how many days the job takes after the site survey.
At Home Expo Asia, vinyl flooring starts from $2.50/sqft with supply and installation included. Most designs are $3.50 to $6.00/sqft, supply and installation included, and our ranges run from budget-friendly to high-end premium. Every design in our catalogue shows its own price. Prices are 0% GST with no ID markup. Your floor area, the condition of your existing floor and the layout all affect the total, so we give you an itemised quote after we measure.
Our per-sqft prices include both the vinyl and installation by our in-house flooring team. If your floor needs extra preparation, such as levelling or hacking, we’ll tell you at the site survey and it will be itemised in your quote before any work starts. You get 0% GST, no hidden extras and no variation orders.
Both. Most homeowners go for supply and install, where our in-house flooring team handles subfloor preparation, installation, edge trims and the final check. If you have your own installer, we also offer supply-only.
Yes, and there’s no minimum. One bedroom, just the living room or the whole flat are all fine. Single rooms are priced à la carte, with no package to buy.
Check with your condo management first. Some condos require acoustic-rated flooring, and our LVT can’t be paired with a separate acoustic underlay. Send us your management’s flooring requirements before you confirm, and we’ll tell you honestly whether LVT fits or suggest an alternative.
Yes, there are two. Our vinyl is backed by a 25-year materials warranty covering defects and delamination. Our installation comes with a 1-year workmanship warranty: if popping, gapping or lifting caused by our installation shows up within that year, we come back and fix it free of charge. Both are written into your quote.
Sweep or vacuum to remove grit, and mop with a damp mop, not a soaking one. Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive scrubbers. LVT never needs polishing, waxing or sealing, so you can more or less set it and forget it.
For most HDB and condo living areas and bedrooms, LVT gives you a waterproof, warm, anti-slip floor that goes in quickly, usually without hacking. Tiles are harder, and they’re the right choice for bathrooms and other areas that are constantly wet. Laminate isn’t waterproof and can swell in Singapore’s humidity, so we steer people away from it. Not sure? WhatsApp us a photo of your space and we’ll give you a straight answer.
It comes down to the look. LVT Plank comes in long, timber-style planks, popular in living rooms and bedrooms. LVT Tile comes in 30 x 60cm and 45 x 90cm stone- and porcelain-look pieces that suit kitchens and entryways. Both have the same build and durability.
